Nigel Risner Series
It's a Zoo Around Here
Based on the wildly successful book (first published in 2002) this course will give you a whole new perspective on people and relationships. We're all individuals, but we share common personality traits which affect the way we communicate.
It's a zoo around here, relates personality types to different animals - monkeys, lions, dolphins and elephants. It's a wonderfully simple approach that helps decode behaviour and improve communication flow and impact. When you know which animals you're dealing with, it's easier to keep the animals around you in check.

Introduction to personality types.
Breaking down personality traits and types helps us understand how to interact with people of every type. This isn't about pigeon holing anyone, it's about helping you decode a complex subject into a brilliantly simple structure.
Why Animals?
There are certain animals we all understand, and it makes it much easier for us to consider our own experiences if we can rely on a simple (not simplistic) approach to breaking it all down. The animals make it easier to relate, learn and put into practice the important lessons this course will deliver.
Take the personality test.
The key to more effective communication is first understanding your own communication skills and personality test. Included as part of this course is a personality test (RRP £90) which will give you a detailed view of your own personality type and communication style. You can't help others until you understand yourself.
Who lives in your zoo?
Understanding who lives in your zoo is not only fun, but it'll take you on a life changing journey that will forever change the way you approach communication.
Monkey business.
Monkey's? Well, they're monkeys. Fun, loud, mischievous, fearless creatures who bore easily. You can almost guarantee that most sales and marketing teams have a bunch of monkeys. This module will show you how to get the best out of your monkeys and what to do if you happen to be a monkey too.
Elephant in the room.
Steady, reliable elephants are an essential animal in the zoo we call work. Data driven, slow to make a decision unlikely to respond to hysteria, look to your accounting and engineering teams to find them. Learn how to work alongside an elephant without getting trampled.
Everybody loves a dolphin.
Caring, friendly and always looking out for their pod, Dolphins are the healers and protectors in your zoo. Most HR people are Dolphin to the core and they are the bridge builders in any organisation. Learn how to swim with Dolphins.
Lions can bite.
Lions are the leaders of the pack, they're demanding, icy and despise contradiction. Lions can be kittens, but only when you learn how to make them purr. Like any animal with big teeth, learn how to handle a lion before your try to pet it.
